Mayor visits foreign-invested companies

Wang Jianguo, mayor of Taicang, visited the foreign-invested companies in the county-level city on Oct 11.  

After learning about the companies' status in new product development, investment promotion, and personnel training, Wang spoke highly of their efforts in pursuing technological innovation and promised to further optimize the city's business environment.

Foreign-invested companies plays a crucial role in Taicang's economy and have made notable contributions to the city's development, said Wang at a discussion panel on the same day.

He added that the city's commerce and service bureaus will open more communication channels for foreign-invested companies and help to solve their problems.

By the end of August, Taicang housed 163 foreign-invested enterprises with an investment volume of over $30 million. Many of the enterprises are engaged in the city's emerging sectors such as smart manufacturing and investment consultancy.
