The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province have been an internet phenomena since its recent entry into the UNESCO World Heritage list in Baku, Azerbaijan.

However, Hangzhou is not the only inheritor of this early culture that is roughly contemporaneous with the Old Kingdom period in Egypt and the Sumer civilization in Mesopotamia.

Relics of Liangzhu Culture are also on display in Taicang, a county-level city in neighboring Jiangsu province.

Located at 8 Oujiang Road in Taicang, Weixin Village covers an area of about 60,000 square meters. A lot of jade artifacts are well-preserved on its northern side.

Unlike Liangzhu City in Hangzhou, Weixin Village was just a small settlement by the sea, according to a government employee in charge of preserving the site.

The site was discovered in May 2003 when a group of archaeological researchers were exploring some ancient tombs.

The discovery revealed that Taicang has a history dating back to before 2,500 BC.
