Workers in Taicang rounded up Japanese sea bass at an aqua farm in Taicang on Dec 15. It marked Dulou Xiaohai eco-agricultural park's success as the first farm to breed such fish in Taicang.

The fish, scientifically known as Lateolabrax japonicas, grows fast and has a tasty and mild flavor. It is an important game and food fish, commercially bred in fresh, brackish and marine water.

The farm introduced 8,000 fish fries in May. Now, around seven months later, it's time to harvest their investment.

Japanese sea bass can be found from Japan to the South China Sea. They inhabit delta areas and coastal waters.
