Barsky, executive chef of Taicang's first authentic German restaurant Schindlers Tankstelle, has lived in Taicang for three years and has totally fallen in love with the small city.

"Taicang is a clean green city. Walking on the city is like walking in the midst of an open garden." Barsky said.

Friendly local residents also impress the German people, and Taicang has become his second home.

The German cook said that his friends told him a lot about the Chinese city when he was in Germany. Some of his friends had come to the city many years ago and some even lived in Taicang for more than 20 years.

So, he decided to come over to the south Chinese city, and after just seeing it once, he decided to stay.

"As far as I know, Taicang is now home to more than 280 German enterprises and I'm sure more and more German enterprises will settle in Taicang," Barsky said.

Besides making German food, Barsky also learns how to make Chinese dishes from chefs of local restaurants and shares his delicious food with Germans and local friends.
