256 German companies have settled in Taicang as of August 2016, with the majority of SMEs being in manufacturing advanced equipment, auto parts, building materials, and biopharmaceuticals. German giants, such as Schaeffler, have also set up branches in Taicang.

German companies in service industries, like auditing and recruitment, have also come to Taicang, including Ueberall GmbH and Schindhelm.
