A brand new all electric van will be used by express delivery companies in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province. According to officials this will start next year in a bid to reduce air pollution.

The new model is powered by batteries and has a driving distance of about 150 kilometers. It can get a full charge in two hours.

“Suzhou has more than 2,000 delivery vans by far. They generate 92 kilograms of carbon dioxide every day,” said an official with the Suzhou Post Bureau. "The all-electric van can contribute to the city's environmental protection."

Currently, 1,200 new energy vehicles and 800 all-electric vehicles are operating in the city. And more electric buses and vans will be introduced to logistics companies and special departments for next year.
