A total of 6.6 million tons of niobium reserves have been discovered in the district, making China the country with the second highest amount of niobium resources in the world.

Iron ore reserves account for 1,400 million tons in the district. With an average grade of 34 percent, unprocessed iron ore is the main raw material excavated by Baogang Group (a major steel producer in China and the largest rare earth industrial base in the world). What’s more, the district is also rich in many other minerals, such as potassium, phosphorus, fluoride, manganese and titanium.

Bayan Obo will continue the construction of its urban areas to build a small, but rich, powerful and beautiful district.
