Xunlong River Eco Art Town, located in Guoyuan town, Changsha county has become a beautiful modern village that attracts lots of tourists every year.

Nine years ago, Xunlong River village was a relatively remote and poor village, but with the development of the economy and society, great changes have taken place. The collective economy in Xunlong River village has undergone a 100-fold increase, and the annual per capita income of the villagers has increased more than 13 times.

The great changes are attributed to Liu Zhonghui, a homecoming entrepreneur who was chosen to be the village's Party secretary in 2009. According to the three basic advantages of location, ecological environment and cultural background, he reconstructed and improved the rural resources, rural civilization and governance structure of Xunlong River village in combination with enacting national policies.

After many years of development, Xunlong River village has become a place where one can enjoy mountains and rivers. It has also strengthened the agriculture industry and increased farmers' income.

Liu said that Xunlong River Eco Art Town had set up an innovative platform between the city and the countryside. It not only helps urbanization for local people to enjoy urban life at home, but also attracts talents from the city to start businesses in the countryside.

Xunlong River village is the hometown of Tian Han, a renowned drama educator and playwright. It is now planning to build a cultural gallery and a theatre to memorialize him and has committed to creating China's first ecological art space.
