Beishan town holds tourism festival to boost economy

The 2018 Fitness Tourism Festival was held in Changjiazhai Scenic Spot, Beishan Provincial Forest Park, Changsha county on Oct 13, attracting more than 1,000 participants from various cities and counties.

The event consists of five activities, including mountaineering, learning and singing folk songs, yoga teaching, health lectures, and fruit and melon picking. There was also a sales activity for special agricultural products, including more than 10 agricultural products from 12 local agricultural enterprises and family farms.

The Fitness Tourism Festival combines fitness and leisure sports with Changsha folk songs, a provincial intangible cultural heritage. Inheritor Yu Xiaoping was invited to the festival to teach tourists folk songs. The festival promotes health and culture.

Jiang Bingtao, Party secretary of Beishan town, said that the tourism festival, combining health concepts, festival activities, sightseeing tours, and the exhibition of agricultural products, will enhance one-stop tourism service and promote the development of Beishan town.

Beishan town has a number of tourism resources, such as Beishan Provincial Forest Park, Changsha folk songs, Beishan cloth dragons, Beishan plums, etc. In recent years, Beishan town has developed its rural tourism based on a concept of health and customs. It received more than 100,000 visitors in 2017.
