Hunan companies shine at China-Eurasia Expo

Businesses from central China's Hunan province enjoyed great success at the 5th China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Sept 20-25, with 16 Hunan enterprises signing agreements with purchasers from European and Asian markets.

Many leading Hunan companies including Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion Heavy Industry and China Railway Construction Heavy Industry took part in the expo, which aims to facilitate trade and investment between China and countries along the Silk Road in a range of sectors from fine wine to publishing and agricultural equipment.

Sany Heavy Industry attended the expo for its fifth consecutive year to showcase its latest excavators, pump trucks and agricultural machinery, signing provisional contracts worth 23 million yuan ($3.44 million) during the event.

The company won public praise for the quality of its products and service from several clients. "We trust the company and we will use the excavator in our coal mine," said one purchaser at the expo.

Zoomlion Heavy Industry took into consideration the needs of European and Asian markets, displaying its marketable forklifts, tractors and sweeping machines at the expo. The company sold 4 million yuan worth of machines on the first day of the expo, according to a manager at Zoomlion.

China Railway Construction Heavy Industry is a model company in intelligent manufacturing. It stood out at the expo for its computerized drill jumbos and concrete spraying machines. It is exploring markets along the Maritime Silk Road and expects to gain the overseas sales of 500 million yuan by 2020.

In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
