Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Development, a Chinese manufacturer of construction machinery and sanitation equipment, took a step toward becoming a world leader in construction hoisting machinery.
Zoomlion, which is headquartered in Changsha, central China’s Hunan province, officially acquired Raxtar, a Dutch hoisting machinery company. The merger and acquisition signing ceremony took place August 8 in Shanghai.
Raxtar is one of the world's leading hoist companies, combining development, production and sales. Its products cover construction hoists, transport platforms, material hoists and industrial lifts. Raxtar's construction hoist products are used in constructing international benchmark projects including the World Trade Center in New York.
Huang Qun, Zoomlion's vice president and general manager of the Hoisting Machinery Branch Company, said Zoomlion's acquisition of Raxtar and its many years of extensive experience will greatly enhance the competitiveness and brand influence of Zoomlion in the global market. Huang said Raxtar has great background in international production, research and development and high-end marketing.
Huang said she wants Zoomlion construction hoists to continue leading the market in China and will one day reshape the international market.
