The Better Life Group, established in 1995, has worked hard to be China’s top retailer and now handles supermarkets, department stores, electronic appliances, catering, entertainment and large commercial real estate and the biggest logistics center for the retail business in mid-southern China.

By August 2011, it had 186 stores, with annual sales of more than 10 billion yuan and employed more than 50,000 people.

The group hopes to increase sales to 30 billion yuan, by 2015, while paying close attention to small-to-mid-sized cities.

A subsidiary, Better Life Commercial Chain Share Co, was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, in 2008, with China’s first private supermarket stock.

The company ranked 30th on the chain store list nationwide and got a AAA credit rating with the China Construction Bank. Better Life was also recognized as a famous Chinese brand by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce.
