The Changsha Jinlong Foundry Industry Co, founded in 1993, is China’s biggest well-lid castings and civil air defense equipment producer and exporter, with seven subsidiaries, a provincial technology center, and 150-million-yuan in assets. It has an annual casting capacity of 60,000 tons, and had 345 million yuan in sales, in 2007, with 31.35 million yuan in taxable income. The company exported 11,200 tons of castings that year, worth $12.8 million. It has 1,960 employees, 180 of them professional and technical personnel, and 44 technicians with a college or higher degree.
Jinlong’s castings are famous across China and abroad and the company is a major earner of foreign exchange in Changsha and one of six major export bases in the area. It has the support of the Hunan government and was designated an industrial casting facility by the Chinese small-to-mid-sized enterprise international cooperation and coordination center, in 2004, and by the Changsha government. The company has won dozens of wards from the Ministry of Commerce, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, the China Foundry Association, and various government departments, including famous Hunan brand recognition, trustworthy unit recognition, an AAA credit rating, and a Top 100 private Hunan enterprise award.
Jinlong has seen leapfrog development since it opened and its brand of nodular cast iron lid is popular worldwide and sells in dozens of countries, with big market share in China and the EU. It developed an anti-theft, anti-impact, sound-free, bouncing well lid that eliminates the problem of lids being stolen or damaged, or causing noise pollution. All of its products are patented and have Chinese and the EU certification. The company also has safe, environmentally friendly services that help customers cut costs. Its castings have also managed to make inroads into the railway, auto, engineering machinery, iron art, and pipe fitting industries for an impressive achievement, thanks to its various strengths, independent accounting, and management. It continues to develop, improve management, standardize operations, and improve services to be more competitive as it strives to go public.
