Holland Arnhem becomes sister city of Wuhan in 1999

Wuhan and Arnhem began exchange and cooperation since 1995, while both cities have made frequent mutual visit and discussed a series of projects for exchange and cooperation.

In September 1999, both cities became sister cities. In Feb, 2001, Ph.D Skoden, Mayor of Arnhem came to Wuhan to promote Wallmir Consultation Company invested the donation (about US$5,500,000) and commercial loan of Netherlands Government in the construction of Wuhan Jiangxia Doublewives Hill Rubbish Treatment Project.

With sound cooperative relationship between both cities, Ms. Julisma, Vice Premier led delegation to visit Wuhan on Nov 28, 2001, and signed a contract of US$50,000,000 with Wuhan Changfei Optical Fiber and Cable Company
