Kostroma seeks cooperation on jewelry in Zhenping

A business delegation from Kostroma, Russia visited Zhenping county of Nanyang recently to seek cooperation with local enterprises in jewelry processing and sales.

Known as the cradle of Chinese jade culture, Zhenping has a jade carving history of more than 4,000 years, and the biggest jade trade market in the country, home to thousands of enterprises.

Accompanied by local officials from the Nanyang Tourism and Foreign Affairs Bureau, the delegation toured the Creative Park of Jade Carving Masters, Zhenyu Tiandi Sales Center and Tianying Handicraft Co Ltd.

A symposium was held afterwards where citrines, rubies and ambers from Kostroma were presented to local businesses from the delegation. The latter hopes to ramp up its cooperation with Zhenping in a pioneering step towards its expansion in China.

Zhenping's enterprises and sales market showed keen interest in the delegation's products, with the government pledging to offer Kostroma companies preferential policies. The specific form and details of the cooperation will be decided in the near future.

Kostroma is the administrative center of Kostroma Oblast, Russia and forms part of the Golden Ring of Russian towns. Reputed for its jewelry processing, the city enjoys the lion's share of the Russian jewelry market, occupying almost 60 percent.
