Southwest China's Guizhou province has cooperated with Tongji University to build several new facilities in Guizhou's Guian New Area, including a rural revitalization research center, mountain architecture design and urbanization promotion center, scientific and technological achievement commercialization center and one practice base.
According to Fang Shouen, secretary of Tongji University's Party committee, as the national ecological civilization pilot area, national big data comprehensive pilot area and inland open economy pilot area, Guizhou has a bright future.
In recent years, Tongji University has enhanced cooperation with Guizhou, relying on the province's urban planning and construction experience, transportation and rural revitalization schemes.
Meanwhile, by promoting the commercialization of scientific and technological achievement, Tongji University has improved its preponderant disciplines, carried out in-depth practical training and innovated in talent cultivation and university construction, Fang added.

In the future, Tongji University will carry out scientific research and policy consultation in the fields of rural revitalization, smart city construction, city planning and big data, relying on its three centers and one practice base in Guizhou.
The university will also integrate its major scientific research platforms, national labs and technology centers to prioritize the commercialization of scientific and technological achievement in Guizhou.
Tongji University and Guizhou will also establish a strategic cooperation consultation mechanism and a communication system to enhance talent training, talent exchange and strategic decision-making consultation.
