In 2019, Guiyang's GDP reached 403.96 billion yuan ($57.06 billion), up 7.4 percent year on year. The added value of the agriculture industry was 16.13 billion yuan, up 5.6 percent year on year, secondary industries were valued at 149.67 billion yuan, up 8.2 percent, and tertiary industries were valued at 238.16 billion yuan, up 7 percent.
Guiyang introduced 1,213 newly signed projects. Paid-in investment was valued at 127.3 billion yuan, foreign investment in actual use was valued at $1.78 billion, up 13 percent, and the total value of foreign trade reached 4.15 billion, up 18.8 percent.

Guiyang governs one county-level city - Qingzhen, three counties - Kaiyang, Xifeng and Xiuwen, and six districts - Wudang, Nanming, Yunyan, Baiyun, Guanshanhu and Huaxi.
