The Beautiful China Annual Awards Ceremony was held in Beijing on Dec 22. Guiyang won the title of "Beautiful China: Best Ecological Cultural Tourism City."

Since 2008, Guiyang has consecutively held six summer events themed "Cool Guiyang." Travelling to Guiyang for a cool summer has become a brand for the city both at home and abroad. Statistics show that the added value of Guiyang’s tourism industry takes up 8 percent of the city’s GDP. Tourism has become its pillar industry. It is expected that tourism revenue in 2013 in Guiyang will reach 72.87 billion yuan ($12 billion), a year-on-year growth of 20.9 percent.
