Nanming district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been exploring the construction of smart communities by adapting big data.

This May, Nanming's Huaguoyuan community, one of Guiyang's key complex construction projects, which covers an area of 10 square kilometers, launched a city governance platform to realize smart management through the help of big data, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing.

To date, parking lots in Huaguoyuan community have installed a smart payment system that can automatically recognize number plates and charge vehicle owners. The system supports various payment methods, saving users from the trouble of giving change or scanning QR codes.

In addition, residents of the community can enter buildings by scanning their faces at the entrances. The smart access control system adopts biological detection technology to avoid illegal entrances through photographs.

Big data is also adopted in the community's fire control system. With 19 mini fire stations in the area, fire fighters can arrive in three minutes after receiving the fire alarms.

Huaguoyuan strives to provide convenience for its residents. By registering on its official app, residents can enjoy property and finance services on their smartphones. So far, over 100,000 people have registered.
