2019 Big Data Expo comes to a close

The four-day 2019 Big Data Expo closed in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, on May 29. It attracted 26,000 representatives and guests from around the world to attend, 448 companies to exhibit, and 125,000 people to participate in.

This year's Big Data Expo covered an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters with 1,200 products, technologies, and solutions.

Technology companies such as Huawei, China Unicom, Inspur, Tongfang Knowledge, and Xiaoi Robot released their latest products.

To date, 125 projects with an investment of 100.76 billion yuan ($14.59 billion) were signed.

The Big Data Expo attracted 742 guests from 61 countries, including 36 countries along the Belt and Road. About 20 countries including Brazil, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, and Ukraine attended the expo for the first time.

World renowned experts such as Paul Romer, co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Memorial Prize in economics, Whitfield Diffie, winner of the 2015 Turing Award, Kevin Kelly, founding executive editor of Wired, attended the expo and shared their professional opinions.

The expo collected 614 leading scientific and technological achievements from around world, 49 of which were awarded according to innovation, contribution, and influence.

With the successful conclusion of the 2019 Big Data Expo, Guizhou has started the planning for next year's expo and will utilize it as a platform to expand Guizhou's influence in the big data industry.
