Due to the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the connection between West China, ASEAN, and the Middle East has never been closer.
According to data, the exports of southwest China's Guizhou province to countries along the Belt and Road increased by 10.4 percent from January to April this year, occupying 30 percent of Guizhou's total export value.

The corridor serves as the closest access to the sea in western China, which is only 1,200 kilometers long and takes 39 hours by train to transfer to sea transportation, four days shorter than previous transportation routes.
With the help of the customs of nine cities along the corridor, customs clearance has been speeded up, which has reduced customs clearance and logistics costs by 10 percent at least, according to a tea company from Tongren.
As a key hub along the corridor, Guizhou is playing a key role in connecting the corridor with Belt and Road countries. It has seen great increase in exporting featured products, such as liquor, fertilizer, tires, and tea, to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
