A long-distance running activity was organized by the Hechi Civilization Office on Jan 27 in Jinchengjiang district of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

About 400 amateur runners and groups of caring people joined in the run to call attention to education for public benefits.

Braving the chilliness and drizzle, runners started from the northwest corner of the civic square and went through 2.5 kilometers before arriving at the Kenwang Bridge. Then they ran back and forth two times during the ten-kilometer journey.

By showing their indomitable spirits, the runners are meant to encourage the poor children to have optimistic attitudes towards life and voice their support to the public welfare undertakings.

Money was also donated to the related organizations to help more children with their education.

The organizations work for the education of the poor children, by handing them school beddings, textbooks and daily necessaries. They also organize social practice activities to help children learn about things outside the classroom such as self-protection and pragmatic common senses.
