Technology museum receives 5m yuan subsidy

Fangchenggang Science and Technology Museum was granted 5 million yuan ($805,000) subsidy by the central government to support its free admissions policy, Fangchenggang Daily reported.

Fangchenggang Science and Technology Museum was included in the free admissions trial program for the nationwide museums this year. The subsidy will mainly be used to fill the gap in earnings. Local financial department will, in strict accordance with the central government arrangements, strengthen fund management and increase capital use efficiency.

Following the construction of the major structure, the museum has put investments worth more than 16 million yuan in exhibition arrangements. All of its exhibition halls are currently open to the public and has the task to promote popular science and enhance people's scientific and technological knowledge and ability.
