Gree looks to cooperate with Lianjiang

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2017-08-30

A delegation from Gree Electric Appliances visited Lianjiang in Zhanjiang recently, seeking cooperation with local small household appliance enterprises.

At present, there are 639 such enterprises in Lianjiang. Its small household appliance industry yielded an output value of 26.8 billion yuan ($4.1 million) in 2016, accounting for 63.81 percent of Lianjiang's total industrial output value.

As the industry plays an increasingly important role in the local economy, its cooperation with Gree – a domestically-leading enterprise of large household appliances, would represent a considerable boon.

The Gree team toured several workshops of enterprises such as Longlive, Tianqi, Namics, Weiduofu and Huaqiang to inspect their manufacturing procedures and facilities.

Through the intelligent manufacturing of multi-functional household appliances, Gree hopes to bring Lianjiang into the mid-to-high-end market and tap into intelligent household appliances.

The biggest advantage of Lianjiang-made small household appliance lies in a complete industrial chain, self-developed technology, lower prices as well as online and offline distribution channels, said Lu Xizhang, president of Huaqiang.

The advanced management mode, technology and equipment of Gree is expected to be introduced in Lianjiang through the cooperation, added him.

Insiders say that a cooperation project valued at 2.2 billion yuan is to be signed, aiming to improve the industrial structure of Gree and push forward the transformation and upgrade of Lanjiang's household appliance industry.
