Preparations to host the first Zhanjiang-ASEAN Agriculture Trade Fair are in full swing in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province.

Authorities hope the event, which runs from June 2 to 5, will become a high-level and influential event among leading countries in the region.

The event will be divided into four exhibitions areas and will be the largest fresh produce fair in Guangdong, according to authorities. More than 800 enterprises from 23 countries will showcase specialty products, including those from over 60 domestic agricultural companies.

The theme of the event will be centered on agricultural innovation and sharing green elements. Several high-end forums will also be held as part of the event and a drone development summit will be among the highlights.

It is the first time for Zhanjiang to host the event, which is part of the city's efforts of providing more trade platforms for international quality fresh produce and expanding the market for local agricultural products, according to the Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing.
