Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing led a group of government officials to inspect the construction of household garbage disposal projects in Suixi, Leizhou and Xuwen on Oct 29. Wang urged all the projects to be completed and put into service by the end of this year.

The group first visited garbage landfills in Suixi county and Leizhou, a county level-city in Zhanjiag. Suixi's garbage landfill is near completion and the first project has already been put into operation. Leizhou is also accelerating the construction of its garbage landfill.

The group then went to Xuwen county and inspected a waste transfer station in Xiaqiao town and a waste collection spot in Xiayangai village.

In recent years, Xuwen has made substantial investments in constructing garbage facilities. So far, 14 villages and towns have built waste transfer stations. There are a total of 1,135 waste collection spots in the county.
