Zhanjiang sports stars leave handprints in hometown

More than 20 prominent sports champions and personalities returned to their hometown Zhanjiang to attend a special handprints ceremony on July 25.
They were invited to leave their handprints in Zhanjiang. Wang Zhongbing, mayor of Zhanjiang, attended the ceremony and awarded the athletes with certificates.
He said that Zhanjiang people are proud of those handprints, whose stories are worth learning.
The city of Zhanjiang plans to erect a sports-themed sculpture and build a "star square" where the handprints will be placed in, to carry forward the spirit of local athletes.
