New ferry route in Zhanjiang to open in July

By Xu Lili Updated: 2015-05-25

A new water ferry route linking the Aquatic Sports Center pier and the Olympic Sports Center pier in Zhanjiang Bay is scheduled to open at the end of this July.

Both piers are 80 meters long with three berths each. Upon completion, they are set to become one of the water ferry system hubs in Zhanjiang Bay.

The 3-km-long new ship route is one of the supporting projects for the 14th Guangdong Provincial Games, which will open on Aug 2.

Water ferry buses will serve tourists as a new transport medium and shoulder part of the expected heavy passenger flow on the Zhanjiang Bay Bridge during the Provincial Games.
