On May 9th, 12:00pm (local time), Project Management Division of Qatar Mega Reservoir Package E successfully implemented the hydraulic test of 1# milestone pipeline which was a 1000m-long nodular cast-iron pipe with a diameter of 1400mm. This one-shot test gained high affirmation and praise from both the owner and consultant engineers.
The 1# milestone section of Package E Reservoir, undertaken by CGGC, involves a huge quantity of construction works including frequent large-diameter pipeline installation and always requires rigorous operation standards. Take the pressure test of cast-iron spigot joint pipes for instance. In accordance with the project speculation, the test pressure shall reach 18.75 bar, 2.25 times as high as the working pressure, and remain stable for 24 hours, which far exceeds the requirement of the same kind either at home or abroad. Under Headquarter’s correct guidance and strong support, the Management Division united all staff to make congruous efforts in conquering unfavorable factors and ensuring the construction progress and quality with scientific management and elaborate implementation.
The other pressure-tests following the trial will continue on, marking the 1# milestone approaching to the end, and guarantees the successful completion and handing-over of 1# miltstone.
