On 27 August, 2015, Yang Yisheng, Deputy Chief Economist, International Business Director of CGGC and Vice President of CGGC International, visited Mr. La Yifan, Ambassador of China in Ethiopia, in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia.
Mr. Yang introduced CGGC's development process, business scopes and operation in the international market including African market and reported the results of the Ethiopia survey and progress of follow-up projects in Ethiopia. He invited the Ambassador to visit the GD3 project site in person for inspectoin and guidance at his convenience. Mr. Yang also extended gratitude to the Ambassador for his continued support for CGGC's development in Ethiopia. He said that Ethiopia was a traditional market and strategic pivot of CGGC in terms of its planning in Africa, and CGGC attached great importance to the radiative influence of Ethiopia on East Africa and the entire continent. CGGC would further develop the Ethiopian market, benefit local people and make new contribution to Sino-Ethiopia friendship.
The Ambassador extended his warm welcome to the delegation and appreciation for CGGC's long term hard work in Ethiopia and contribution to the friendship between the two countries. He pointed out that China and Ethiopia witnessed deepened friendship, frequent bilateral exchanges at a high level, and prosperous economic and trade exchanges in the context of capacity cooperation between them. The Embassy wished CGGC seize the opportunity to carry out its grand plans in Ethiopia and would continuously provide full support for the development of CGGC in Ethiopia.
Mr. Chen Gang, Chairman of CGGC No. 1 Engineering Company, Mr. Hu Yizhong, President of CGGC No. 5 Engineering Company and Mr. Lyu Zexiang and Mr. Yuan Baoyi, both Vice Presidents of CGGC International also attended the meeting.
