Five to seven typhoons are predicted to land in or affect Fujian province in 2015, authorities said on April 15.
The number of typhoons is slightly less than average over the past years. But the intensity could be stronger, said the provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters.
There will be likely one typhoon in July, two to three in August, one in September and one to two in October and afterwards.
Meanwhile, Fujian will see an uneven distribution of precipitation in the rainy season, with rain in the northern part, which will likely trigger moderate floods in some basins along the Minjiang River.
