Rainstorms to accompany gaokao in Fujian
Updated: 2014-06-03

South and central Fujian will still see heavy rain as will other parts of the south this week, when the national college entrance examination, or gaokao, is being held, the Fujian provincial meteorological observatory forecast on June 2.

The highest temperatures during the coming week are expected to range from 32 to 35 degrees Celsius in most counties and cities.

During June 3 and 4, moderate to heavy rain will fall across certain parts of southern Fujian.

On June 5 and 6, moderate to heavy rain will be found around south central Fujian, with showers or thundershowers falling to the north.. Looking ahead to June 7 and 8, showers will continue across the whole province. The interior will have moderate rain, with some areas experiencing heavy rains or rainstorms.

Accordingly, lightning protection in examination rooms should be strengthened and heat stroke prevention should be implemented, experts have advised.
