The city of Jinjiang, Fujian province, recently announced that it will guarantee the safety and convenience of its school buses for students by setting up a special service company, in response to some incidents of speeding or overloading.
The company will only buy buses that meet national standards and will use them solely for student transportation. Local pricing, finance, and education departments will figure the cost, part of which will be covered by the government, instead of putting the burden on students’ families.
Schools in Jinjiang are using 86 school buses in all and after the company is set up, they will have to be managed in a uniform way.
