There is a month-long cloth painting exhibition was held in Gutian, near the city of Longyan, Fujian province to celebrate the anniversary of a meeting presided over by Mao Zedong, in December 1929, at Gutian.

The exhibition, whose theme is "Impression on Gutian", is for the 85th anniversary of the Gutian Congress, or 9th Party Congress of the Chinese Workers and Peasants 4th Red Army, and has cloth paintings made by Chen Min, who has over 30 years of experience in cloth painting.

Organizers of the show are the Tourism Development Board of the Gujiao New District and the Tourist Distributing Center.

Cloth painting, also known as Palace embroidery or cloth-pasting, is a new type of artwork that combines the traditional and modern, with the patterns usually painted on the white base cloth.
