A concert titled Hearing Jimei by a group of college music talents was staged in the Jimei district of Xiamen, Fujian province on Jan 20.

Jimei district, situated at the southeast part of the city, covers an area of 276 square kilometers and is home to numerous universities such as Huaqiao University, Jimei University and Xiamen University of Technology.

The event was a perfect ending to a weekend music program jointly sponsored by the Jimei publicity department and a local media company.

Since March of last year the program has included 15 concerts comprising over 300 performances and reaching more than 30,000 people, predominantly college students, according to the organizing committee.
