Guo Weilan quit her job in the big city and returned to her hometown to back up her family's small noodle business.

Guo, 23, was born and raised in Pengdao, a remote village in Southeast China's Fujian province. After graduating college, Guo quit her job in an internet company and decided to go back to her hometown earlier this year.

Now, perched on a large wooden rolling pin, the 23-year-old uses her behind to apply weight to the dough in order to make noodles for her family's restaurant.

Different from the ordinary process, the noodles made by Guo's family are much tastier and chewier.

According to Guo, the skills of making noodles by squatting on a giant roller are inherited from great grandfather.

The restaurant, aptly named "Bottom Noodles Restaurant", has been operated by Guo's family for more than 100 years and has long gained a wide recognition among the local residents.

In addition to running the restaurant, Guo also devotes her time to promoting and selling the handmade noodles and other local products online, which has proved a success.

She revealed the average monthly revenue from the e-shop she opened has topped 60,000 yuan ($9,255). Looking forward, Guo is determined to help more villagers sell products online and to help others achieve a common prosperity.
