A representative of the Xiamen Tourism Bureau, sponsors and the 100 winning “Weibo talents” attended an event in Tong’an district, Xiamen, on Dec 4, which marked the end of an activity that was launched in June and aimed to identify 100 people who help raise the profile of the city on Weibo.

The activity was sponsored by the Xiamen Tourism Bureau and organized by Xiamen Asian-Pacific Tourist Development Center. More than 1000 members of the public took part, and some were recommended by Sina.com, Tencent.com,and Youdodo.com. More than 500 of the participants have at least 10,000 followers on Weibo, and the 100 winners were treated to a holiday in Xiamen from Dec 3 to 5.

Lin Yuzho, representing the tourism bureau, said that since the implementation of the Tourism Law an increasing number of individual tourists visit the city, and he added that the activity aimed at finding 100 "Xiamen Tourism Weibo Talents" helps to raise awareness of Xiamen as a tourist destination.
