A Dalian economic and trade delegation traveled to Hong Kong on April 21 for economic and trade talks, with Chen Zhenggao, the governor of Liaoning province, hosting a symposium on cooperation with investors at the Conrad Hotel, on April 22.
It pulled in more than 60 senior executives from Dalian and Hong Kong companies and three cooperation agreements were signed on the spot. Chen was able to answer questions from entrepreneurs and discuss specific investment problems with various government departments. He also said he hopes that both parties will benefit through honest, pragmatic cooperation by the government and corporations.
Li Wancai, the mayor of Dalian, who took part in the discussion, emphasized the government's role in creating a free, harmonious environment for the investment in Dalian, and welcomed the cooperation. Five other agreements were reached later at a forum in Dalian’s Taiping gulf coastal economic zone.
