The Dalian University of Foreign Languages opened a training class for volunteers wanting to work for Confucius institutes in Europe and the United States, on March 18.
There are 207 undergrads and graduate students from 44 Chinese universities getting two months of training. Those who qualify can work at 69 Confucius Institutes as Chinese teachers in 28 countries in Europe and America, excluding the US.
Dalian University of Foreign Languages has set up four of these institutes in Russia, Japan, South Korea, and Colombia since 2007.
In the past several years, the university has also provided Chinese-language trainingfor teachers, presidents of Confucius Institutes, and for officials from Moldova.
