Self-protection education for girls

Primary and middle school students in Xuzhou of Jiangsu province received courses on girl sexual abuse prevention at the beginning of the new semester in February.

The students, under the guidance of professional teachers, learned about private parts of their bodies and how to distinguish and prevent sexual abuse.

Many schools in Xuzhou now include the course in their teaching program and as of December 2016 which 430,000 primary students and 76,000 parents had attended it. At the same time, 170,000 safety education manuals and 829 professional teachers were allocated for the work.
