Duration of registered trademarks

The period of validity of a registered trademark shall be ten years, counted from the day the registration is approved. If a registrant needs to continue to use the registered trademark after the period of validity expires,the registrant shall proceed with the renewal procedure registration as per the regulations within twelve before the said expiration. Where the registrant fails to proceed with the renewal procedure within the said period, a grace period of six months may be allowed. The period of validity of each renewal of registration shall be ten years, commencing from the next day of the expiration date when the last period of validity of such registration expires. If the applicant fails to proceed with the renewal procedure at the expiration of the grace period, the registered trademark shall be cancelled.
