In Zhongguancun Cuihu Lake Science Park, the construction of the medical valley industrial park is set to start after the bidding period.

According to the contractor, the industrial park is an "ecological medical valley", for it has adopted many new measures for energy conservation and emission reduction.

Ultra low energy consumption

The room temperature is kept at 26 degrees Celsius without central heating or air conditioning

"The appearance of Building No 15 doesn't differ much from the other buildings, but it's in fact an ultra-low-energy building," Zhang Wei, a project manager said.

The outer insulation of Building No 15 contains 20cm-thick insulation board, twice the width of ordinary buildings.

25 cm-thick extruded insulation board is installed on the roof, and the window of the building is equipped with triple or quadruple-glazed glass, instead of normal double-glazed glass.

Besides, this building is more airtight compared to others, which can prevent indoor hot air from escaping. In this way, a thick "down coat" covers the building.

Smog-resisting building

Fresh Air System can purify the air and adjust the temperature

The Fresh Air System adopted in Building No 15 has an added function of heat recovery, compared with the systems used in other buildings.

Simply put, the hot air inside the building will absorb and store the heat before leaving the room. Before the fresh ourside air comes back in, the previously stored heat can be utilized to heat the air. Therefore, a constant temperature of 20 to 26 degrees Celsius can be maintained inside the building.

It is also worth mentioning that this building can also resist the smog.

All external windows of the building are produced and installed according to the stringent air tightness requirements to prevent dirty air from entering the room. Meanwhile, the Fresh Air System is equipped with a pollutant filtering device, which can continuously supply fresh air and filter PM2. 5.

Construction to start this month

A biomedical research and development test base

The total construction area of the East Zone of Medical Valley Industrial Park is close to 110,000 square meters, including six research office buildings, which are expected to be completed and delivered in 2021.

After the completion, it will become a research and development base for biomedical enterprises and a national industrial park of biomedical healthcare industry.
