China Greatwall Technology Group Co Ltd (CGT), a master of core technologies in independent and controllable fields and information security, announced its strategic cooperation with the country's internet giant Baidu Inc. on March 18.

The two companies will jointly work on China's independent and controllable artificial intelligent platform combining AI software, hardware, and innovation.

According to the agreement, CGT will provide support on technological services and integration services, as well as the infrastructure for a cloud data center.

Baidu's AI CITY Brain and intelligent perception platform will back things up with technical services through its AI development platform.

Jin Hongrong, president of CGT, said that CGT will gather its best team, technology and products in Baidu. He hoped that the new cooperation model will utilize the advantages of the two companies to build a new model and benchmark for the autonomous and controllable AI platform in China.

Zhang Yaqin, president of Baidu, noted that the policy and industrial environment makes for cooperation between Baidu and CGT. Baidu will bring its AI advantages in technology research and development, platform opening and industrial applications to this cooperation, which will empower the digital economy and accelerate the commercialization of AI.

The two parties will also cooperate in the construction of new smart cities and intelligent manufacturing, and adopt the latest AI and big data technologies to provide brand-new smart city solutions.

In addition, both sides will partner with local governments to build an AI industry innovation center, which will transform AI and big data technologies into industrial application achievements, cultivate high-growth industrial clusters, and speed up AI technological innovation.
