The Anhui forestry output value in 2011 reached 117.18 billion yuan, seeing a year-on-year growth of 64 percent.

In recent years, Anhui province has vigorously implemented their forestry industry promotion plan. The economic forest industry, forest related industry and flower industry have developed comprehensively. In 2011, the forestry income reached 37.6 billion yuan, with a growth of 42 percent; wood and timber had a production value of 6.2 billion yuan, with a growth of 10 percent; economic forest products realized a production value of 17.9 billion yuan, seeing a growth of 41 percent; and the forest related economy gained an income of over 5 billion yuan.

The tertiary industry, mainly ecological tourism, is a new highlight to development. In 2011, the tertiary industry output hit 14.82 billion yuan, with a growth of 124 percent. Among this, the income of forest and wetland tourism, forest product trade and leisure services reached nearly 10 billion yuan, with an increase of about 122 percent.

This year, attention shall be put into nine dominant industries including the forestry industry, bamboo industry, woody grain and oil industry, and special economic forest industry. It aims to cultivate six industry clusters. During "the Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the forest coverage rate should amount to 29 percent and the forestry production value shall break through 200 billion yuan.
