The third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on the afternoon of May 21.

CPPCC members from Northeast China's Jilin province arrived in Beijing on May 19 to attend the event and they will discuss major political, economic and social issues at the session.

Also, the third session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) is scheduled to open on May 22.

NPC deputies from Jilin province arrived in Beijing on May 20, to attend the annual session.

The delegation consists of 53 deputies -- including doctors, teachers, scientific research personnel, and workers. They have made preparations to present their motions and suggestions during the country's top annual legislative meeting.
