The inauguration ceremony for the Jilin Province Research Association of Artwork Collection was held in Changchun, the provincial capital, on March 9.

It was attended by guests including Yuan Weihua, director of the social organization management bureau of the Jilin civil affairs department, Lv Bo, director of the newly-established association, and Xu Xiaohong, the association’s secretary.

Lv presented the main work of the association at the ceremony, pointing out that it aims to boost the province’s development through culture.

Members of the association will study the province’s history and culture, and cooperate with academies, museums and art galleries to hold activities such as lectures, exhibitions, and training in art, Lv said.

The new body plans to organize two painting and calligraphy exhibitions and one or two ceramic artwork exhibitions in 2019, to provide an exchange platform for collectors.

In addition, the association will strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, to promote traditional Chinese culture.
