The Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is typically known for its many mountainous areas, but for a century it's also been a source of delicious mangoes. A market promotion held in Beijing's largest fruits and vegetables wholesale hub on Tuesday introduced the plump and succulent mangoes from Baise city in The Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to Beijing citizens. Major supermarket chains in the capital including Jingkelong and Lottemart have agreed to stock these Baise mangoes. Baise city has a mango planting history of over one hundred years. The fertile earth at its Youjiang river valley has nurtured mangoes of various species.

Baise is considered one of the three mango production regions in China together with Hainan province and the Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture in Yunnan Province. The following photos provided to CRI by the local information office show farmers picking and packaging mangoes ready to be transported to other parts of China.
