Celery leaves

Add a little bitterness to your summer

Are you throwing celery leaves away? Don't! Though slightly bitter, celery leaves are very good for our health. Compared with its prized stalk, the leaves are richer in vitamin C and B, calcium and potassium. Use them in salads, stews or as a part of your regular mirepoix.

Buckwheat

Add a little bitterness to your summer

Buckwheat is a type of grain that's widely used in Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisines. Buckwheat is rich in flavonoids that are famous for their anti-oxidant abilities. It is also high in fiber, an agent that can control blood sugar and relieve constipation. Buckwheat is also rich in vitamin C, E and B2, as well as magnesium, potassium and selenium. The grains can be mixed with rice to make porridge. Buckwheat is also used in Japanese styled noodle called soba, or Korean styled noodle naengmyeon, both available at grocery stores.
