Baby beluga
The Sofitel Shanghai Hyland aims to delight caviar connoisseurs with some top-of-the-drawer 000 Beluga caviar from March 11 to 21. Having the largest eggs in the Caspian Sea gives the brand bragging rights and a deserved reputation around the world for its rich creamy texture. Flying fish roe are among the other highlights of the dinner buffet at the hotel's Mosaic restaurant, which costs 318 yuan. Sunday brunch costs 388 yuan. Both prices exclude a 15-percent surcharge.

Foie gras feast
Epicure on 45, the revolving restaurant located atop Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World, is featuring fois gras through March. A mix of fresh fruits and vegetables will give this traditional French dish a twist and highlights will include foie gras pate with apples, grapes, nuts and balsamic vinegar cream (148 yuan) and pan fried foie gras with vanilla bean sauce and apple foam (150 yuan).

Cantonese delights
Le Meridien Sheshan's Lake View restaurant is marking the onset of spring with a Cantonese food fair next month. A wide array of traditional delicacies will be on offer, including steamed Mandarin fish with lam kok in broth (168 yuan) and poached river shrimp in special sauce (78 yuan).

Rockin' the opera
The Pudong Shangri-La is hosting an opera party for guests on March 20. Fine cuisine prepared by the hotel's executive chef Timothy James Stanhope will be served during the show Opera Rocks, which stars Singers Beyond Borders and the ensemble Pavarotti of China Wei Song. The program comprises 17 songs in five languages and tickets are priced at 1,388 yuan and 1,688 yuan.

Okura's 20th anniversary
The Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai is celebrating its 20th birthday by throwing a series of special events on March 20. The hotel is offering set anniversary menus at half-price and a 20-percent discount on a la carte items at all of its restaurants and bars.
