Greetings from Capital Airport

I would like to take this opportunity on the Lantern Festival to deliver my deepest gratitude and sincere blessings to China Daily's readers on behalf of Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA).

Dubbed China's "premier national gate", Capital Airport saw 65 million passengers pass through it last year, ranking third worldwide in terms of passenger flow.

Its passenger satisfaction rate stands at 4.47 points, or at fourth place globally, after Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Singapore Changi Airport and Hong Kong International Airport, according to a report released last year by Airports Council International.

Recently, the BCIA was rated a Four Star airport by Skytrax, a prestigious civil aviation service research and consultancy agency. This is the first time for a Chinese airport, and the fifth airport in the world, to receive the honor.

I firmly believe that all these achievements would not have been possible without the trust and support of our passengers, including our distinguished readers.

What we have achieved in 2009, and will be achieving in 2010, both contribute to our continuous commitment to "advocate China service and create an international hub". I promise, we'll be sparing no efforts to provide a safe, convenient and pleasant travel service to all our passengers.

Spring comes on the heels of winter, and we are looking forward to a golden spring with the recovery of the economic situation at home and abroad. Armed with a strategic blueprint to build a strong civil aviation sector, we look to the future with full confidence.

Thank you and once again blessings to China Daily's readers in the Year of Tiger. It is our honor to serve you at Capital Airport.

Dong Zhiyi, president and CEO of Beijing Capital International Airport Co Ltd
